The Palas VKL series of dilution systems operate according to the ejector principle and form the basis for VDI guideline 3491 sheet 15. The VKL series of dilution systems are unique in their ability to provide a particularly long service life and easy operation. They deliver a constant and representative dilution with factors of 10, 27, or 100. By cascading several VKL systems it is possible achieve a dilution factor of up to 1 : 1,000,000. The VKL dilution systems are used in vertical operation for powders or dusts with particles up to 20 µm making them ideal for clean room applications.
The VKL systems can be combined with all common particle counters. The VKL systems can be fabricated from stainless steel for corrosive aerosols and/or configured so that they are pressure-resistant to 10 bar overpressure. The VKL 27 dilution systems were developed specifically for the application of testing gas masks, where the dilution factor of 1 : 27 is required.
The DC 10000 utilizes a fan for the air supply in the dilution cascade eliminating the need for compressed air. The DC 10000
can be used for the dilution of aerosols with a particle size up to 5 µm and can also be operated with external compressed air, if available. The DC systems are typically used in the filter media test rigs that operate according to EN 1822 and ISO 29463. The dilution cascade has an aerosol inlet and four aerosol outlets to which aerosol measuring devices, such as optical particle counters, according to ISO12501-4, or optical aerosol spectrometers can be connected. Depending on which aerosol outlet is connected to the relevant measuring system, the defined dilution factors of 1:10; 1:100; 1:1,000 or 1:10,000 can be achieved.
Each individual dilution system is characterized unambiguously and each is documented with a calibration certificate
The dilution steps deliver a constant, representative dilution with the factors 10 or 100
The dilution systems can be cascaded with the factors 1,000, 10,000, 100,000, and 1,000,000
